Burnt Sienna

Named after the city

The color Sienna takes its name from the city where the earth pigment was originally sourced: Siena, Italy. Burnt Sienna is made by heating (calcining) Raw Sienna. After cycling the Via Francigena, I painted Siena, in Siena, with Burnt Sienna.
