Pigments Route Expedition Chapters
Follow the Pigments Route expedition from Bilbao to Japan through cycling, watercolors, and traditional pigments.

Chapter #1 Basque Country
Starting from my hometown of Bilbao, I cycled along the mountainous Basque coast, heading east toward the French border and painting en plein air with traditional colors along the way.
Chapter #2 Atlantique – Méditerranée
I cycled along the Atlantic coast following EuroVelo 1 – La Vélodyssée, then continued along the Canal des Deux Mers, painting with traditional pigments from the route until I reached the Mediterranean Sea.
Chapter #3 Van Gogh – Renoir
I followed in the footsteps of Vincent van Gogh, Paul Cézanne, and Pierre-Auguste Renoir, cycling along EuroVelo 8, sections of the ViaRhôna, through Provence, and across the spectacular Gorges du Verdon.
Chapter #5 All roads lead to Rome
Despite the intense traffic, I made it to Rome. I cycled along the Mediterranean coast and followed the Via Francigena all the way to the Colosseum marking the final stage into Rome.
