I started painting a watercolor of the Parthenon, but I wasn’t allowed to photograph my own artwork inside the Acropolis, so I left in disagreement. Instead, I peacefully painted the monument from outside, in a quiet forest, free of such unfair restrictions.
Last day in Europe. Beyond this Greek border town, only Asian countries lay ahead.
The mountains of inland Greece were covered in snow in January. The best option was to cycle 70 km out of Athens to reach the Port of Lavrio by noon and catch the ferry to Kavala.
