Ancient seabed
In the remote layered hills of Kazakhstan, nicknamed Tiramisu for their stratified appearance, I painted on location using chalk-rich earth collected from the sedimentary deposits of an ancient seabed. The chalky character of the landscape comes through in a painting completed in under five minutes.
