Caucasus Earth
Color of the high mountains
Grey-green mineral deposits, carried downstream from the high mountains, give rise to the color Caucasus Green. Using Schmincke Naturals’ Caucasus Green watercolor, mixed with local earth for texture, I painted the iconic towers of Ushguli at 2,100 m.
