Red and violet Armenian earth

Cycling through the Debed Canyon, the landscape reveals subtle red and violet tones in the rock. Upon reaching the UNESCO-listed Haghpat Monastery, I painted on location using historic Armenian red bole blended with violet earth collected from roadside soil deposits.
